Gardening With Hostas

Wednesday, June 19, 2013, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road

Come learn about the fascinating diversity of the genus Hosta. When it comes to perennials grown for foliage, few can compete with hosta. They are suitable from full shade to full sun. Size can range from a few inches to several feet. There is hardly any place in a garden where a hosta can’t be used. This workshop will introduce you to the variation that exists among the hosta, along with a stroll in the flower gardens to see our significant hosta collection. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Format: Oral presentation + a walk in the flower gardens. Fee: $30 FOG/$35 public. Pre-registration required. Instructor: Todd Boland, Research Horticulturist. To register, please visit the Botanical Garden website: www.mun.ca/botgarden. Telephone registration is available May 1.
