Enrichment opportunity for high school students
SHAD is a competitive entry, four week national enrichment program for high-achieving students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Successful applicants join a cohort of approximately 50 students at one of 12 university campuses across Canada where they are exposed to a wide variety of topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through a partnership with Memorial University, SHAD has 50 full scholarships available for Newfoundland and Labrador students to attend this prestigious program. Information about SHAD, the funding available for NL students, and the online application can be found at www.shad.ca/NLapplicants. Parents of prospective candidates are invited to attend an information session at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, in EN-1001 at MUN. The SHAD outreach co-ordinator at Memorial will give an overview of the program and application process, and answer questions.
