The Irish poet, novelist and critic will discuss "'The Parish of Rich Women': The Novels of Elizabeth Bowen and Molly Keane." In the lecture, McCarthy will speak on the lives of two 20th-century Irish novelists, Elizabeth Bowen and Molly Keane (M.J. Farrell), who explore the cultural landscape of the big country houses in Southern Ireland. In the process, he discusses matters of interest to creative writers as well as to readers and scholars.
