After Confederation, Newfoundland began a broad push to modernization that has transformed the nature of life in the province. Like many rural communities, Change Isands has undergone drastic changes in lifestyles, technological practices, and economic underpinnings.  Dr. Sengers will be using the Change Islands to explore what it means to become modern in the light of infrastructural change.
