Founding member of Great Big Sea, solo artist, actor and author Alan Doyle is this year's keynote speaker at our Calgary Affinity Newfoundland and Labrador Dinner.

A graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Alan has strong connections to Memorial. He was named Alumnus of the Year in 1999, along with his three band mates of the legendary Newfoundland and Labrador group Great Big Sea. Alan is also a Juno nominee and East Coast Music Award winner.

Drawing on his years of success and experience, Alan will deliver an engaging talk on his lessons learned about teamwork, leadership, inspiring others, embracing change, and the influence of his rural upbringing on his musical and business successes.

Joining Alan will be Memorial alumni, friends, dignitaries and other special guests for an unforgettable evening, celebrating Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich culture and heritage.

There will be plenty of food, stories, drink and reasons to celebrate Memorial and Newfoundland and Labrador, while raising money for student scholarships at Memorial.
