Science Literacy Week: Body Works Presentation

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, 7-8:30 p.m.
Johnson GEO Centre, St. John's

Dr. Shakti Chandra will present some of the magnificent collection of anatomical specimens she has created for teaching during her sabatical with Dr. Gunther von Hagens, the inventor of the unique plastination technique and creator of the Body Worlds exhibition. Dr. Chandra, professor of Anatomy at Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine, spent a one year sabbatical with Dr. von Hagens in Germany, working on the intricate dissections and this collection is part of that work. Hear about and view real bones and organs (plastinated) and appreciate the connectedness of the human body.

Meet Dr. Chandra, discover the world of plastination and learn about your own body, inside and out.

Program is free and registration is not required. Everyone is welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
