Ryan Snoddon to host panel discussion on wild weather
From record-setting snowfalls and big floods to damaging winds and coastal erosion, Newfoundland and Labrador’s weather gives us plenty to talk about.
That fascination of what goes on around us is the focus of a special speakers panel, which is taking place later this month and hosted by popular CBC meterologist Ryan Snoddon.
Extreme Obsession: Our Love/Hate Relationshiop with the Weather is open to the public and features Memorial experts Dr. Norm Catto, Department of Geography; Dr. Brad deYoung, Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography; and Dr. Ken Snelgrove, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
Each expert will talk about common misconceptions of our province’s climate and how our wild weather affects us.
The event takes place on Wednesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m., in room IIC-2001 in the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation.
Tickets are $5 each and are on sale now. To RSVP, rsvpalumni@mun.ca or call 709-864-2313. Parking will be available in lots 17 and 18. A reception will follow.
The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development is organizing the discussion, which is presented by Johnson Insurance.
