Grants for applied health research
The recently launched Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research (NLCAHR) Awards Program will provide a total of $122,000 to support applied health research in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The NLCAHR Awards fund researchers and graduate students for work on research projects with direct relevance to one or more of NLCAHR’s priority themes. The following priority research themes will be the focus of this year’s awards program:
- The challenges of population health and health services in Newfoundland and Labrador;
- Health promotion and wellness;
- Efficiency and effectiveness of the provincial health system
NLCAHR offers the following funding for research projects:
- Development grants, two at $15,000
- Research project grants, two at $35,000
NLCAHR also offers funding for graduate students working on applied health research theses. This funding is intended to cover the costs associated with conducting thesis research:
- Master’s Thesis Research Grants, two at $4,000
- Doctoral Thesis Research Grants, two at $7,000
Applications for funding must be submitted by July 20, 2015.
