Portal a better way to move used books

Aug. 29, 2003

Students at Memorial will now be able to find cheaper books faster and easier than ever before. Instead of staring at a wall of leaflets and makeshift posters, students looking for deals need go no further than a few mouse clicks. MyMUN (portal.mun.ca), a personalized Web tool currently available to all current students, has just released a new service (known as a channel) to sell used books. The Used Books Service enables students to post used books for sale and search for books available in particular fields of study.

This is just one of the many services available at portal.mun.ca.

"We are always looking for services that can be offered or improved using the portal" says Andrew Draskoy, C&C portal team leader, and “we will continue to add channels in the future.” You can send feedback to the MyMUN team by clicking on the feedback button or by filling in the User Survey under the "Student Life" tab. "Ideas you may have for other new services for current students are most welcome," says Paul Whittle, Web Manager, University Relations.

Editor's note:

For those unfamiliar with MyMUN, a link to the Web service is available via Quicklinks on the Main MUN web page, or by typing the url: portal.mun.ca. New users can obtain a MUN Login account by selecting "first time users." For those who already have a MUN Login and are familiar with the tool, instructions for adding the Used Books channel are available on the MyMUN login page (portal.mun.ca).
