ACE Memorial advances in the SIFE World Cup

An outstanding opening performance has earned ACE Memorial a slot in the semi-finals of the SIFE World Cup.

In their first bout of competition they beat out last year’s World Cup champions from China. Dr. Gary Gorman, dean of the Faculty of Business Administration is in New York City for the competition. Dr. Gorman praised the team for their efforts. “They competed in what many considered to be the most competitive division,” he explained. “They gave a spirited and emotional performance that drew praise from everyone including many of their competitors.”

In May, ACE Memorial was judged to be the most enterprising campus in Canada, earning them the right to represent Canada and compete against the best of their peers in the World Cup. This is ACE Memorial’s second trip to the prestigious competition. Last year, they made it to the semi-final round where they lost out to the overall winner, China.

The semi-final and final rounds will be held today, with the winners being announced at 6:30 p.m.

Online streaming video of the final round competition and awards ceremony will be available at www.sife.org at 8:30 p.m.
