Grad life - orientation for grad students

New graduate students are getting a warm welcome. The School of Graduate Studies and the Division of Student Affairs and Services are hosting a Graduate Student Orientation for all new graduate students at Memorial.

Included are all students admitted to graduate programs for winter 2010, spring 2010 or fall 2010 semesters.

Events take place on Saturday, Sept. 18, in the Inco Innovation Centre from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Graduate Student Orientation is designed to help graduate students in their unique transition to graduate school. There will be an informative keynote address, roundtable discussions, booth presentations, free food, and giveaways. The first 50 graduate student registrants will receive a complimentary 1 GB Memorial University memory stick, and between 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., there will be a draw for an Apple iPad.

The day starts off with registration and a breakfast. Throughout the day, the will be a welcome from Dr. Rob Shea, dean of Student Affairs and Services, and a keynote address by Dr. Noreen Golfman, dean, School of Graduate Studies.
